Learn how to clean dirty files and ITM records to improve game stability and prevent conflicts.

Important Warning

Always backup your plugins before cleaning! Cleaning can sometimes break mods if done incorrectly.

What are Dirty Files?

Dirty files contain unnecessary data that can cause conflicts and instability. This includes:

  • ITM Records: Identical to Master records
  • Deleted References: References to deleted records
  • UDR Records: Undeleted and Disabled References

Cleaning Process

  1. Load only the plugin you want to clean
  2. Right-click on the plugin in the file tree
  3. Select "Apply Script" from the context menu
  4. Choose the appropriate cleaning script
  5. Review the changes before applying

Cleaning Scripts

  • Remove ITM Records: Removes identical-to-master records
  • Remove Deleted References: Cleans deleted record references
  • Undelete and Disable References: Fixes UDR issues

Verification

  1. Check the Messages tab for cleaning results
  2. Verify the plugin still works in-game
  3. Test for any new issues or conflicts
  4. Keep backups of original files
